2023 EFMD Excellence in Practice AWARD: Silver
The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has presented this year's Excellence in Practice Award in silver to the Daimler Truck Initiative DTR0CKs. The jury recognized the achievements of DTR0CKs as a global development initiative. It has created a community in which more than 4,800 managers worldwide have learned about and experienced the Daimler Truck Great Leadership Behavior and translated it into their own day-to-day leadership to promote employee engagement and support the creation of the IMPACT Culture.
DTR0CKs was initiated by the Learning Academy and actively supported by the Daimler Truck Board of Management. Within 5 months, 280 online workshops were successfully conducted, in different time zones, in cross-level and cross-functional mixed groups. To increase sustainability, each participant created a personal action plan to lead the dialog on Great Leadership Behavior with his/her colleagues and team members.
The resulting dynamic not only produced an innovative way of learning, but also showed that the idea for the way Daimler Truck does things has taken off and laid a strong foundation for the success Daimler Truck envisions for itself.

chemmedia was tasked with creating an automated online training course for over 400 managers and supervisory board members worldwide. The aim was to communicate guidelines for corporate governance and the company’s decision-making process centrally, taking into account its core value of integrity. Within seven months, chemmedia had created the “Management Module - Corporate Governance” for Mercedes-Benz Group AG—an automated, adaptive and target group-oriented integrity training course that currently comprises a total of 25 customized eLearning modules and adapts to prior experience, position and risks.

That’s why Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH teamed up with chemmedia AG to launch an international onboarding project that would map the process digitally and efficiently. This enabled them to reduce onboarding times in stores in 12 countries while also driving up employee and customer satisfaction.

Joining forces with a publishing group, chemmedia AG came up with a learning platform for notarial employees that combined vocational training, didactic expertise and modern technology. A multifaceted eLearning project was created in record time, but without neglecting the opportunity to keep expanding and improving. The publisher was thus able to reposition itself and lay the foundation for a digital future.

The creation and roll-out of compliance training to more than 150,000 employees. Auditable, digital, and at the lowest possible cost—all in less than 4 months. A tremendous challenge for our client in the automotive industry, but together we conquered it. The project set a new benchmark for the efficient and effective implementation of future eTraining modules. Defined and securely tested processes and procedures with internal and external teams make it far easier to create further content—a real win for the company.

As part of a rebranding and the introduction of a new corporate design, the pressure was on to redesign almost 40 existing multilingual eLearning modules! In addition, design templates were required to shorten production times for new online courses and to expand the team of authors. And all that in just three months. The solution came in the form of a supported switch from the Lectora tool to the Knowledgeworker Create LCMS, with the simultaneous migration of existing eLearning modules.
